Debasish Jana is presently affiliated with Simplex Infrastructures Limited, Kolkata. He has about twenty years of extensive experience in information technology arena in various stages of the software development lifecycle. His special skills include object - oriented methodology, object technology with C++/Java/Smalltalk, distributed computing, and Graphical User Interface design, front - end tool development, software version management as well entire software process lifecycle management. He worked as various capacities at HP Division of Blue Star, Techna, BFL Software, Millenium Information Systems, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Anshin Software, Kolkata. Debasish has a Masters degree in Computer Science from University of Waterloo, Canada. Prior to that, he did his Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He has a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. In addition he has been elected a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers India (IE) and also a Fellow of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), India. He has been also elected as Senior Member of Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), USA, Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) USA and Life Senior Member of Computer Society of India (CSI). He is also a professional member of American Mathematical Society (AMS), USA and life member of Indian Statistical Institute (ISI). He had served as a Treasurer for 2002 - 2004 and member of Administrative Committee of Computer Chapter of IEEE Calcutta Section for 2004 - 2007 and as a Management Committee Member of CSI Kolkata Chapter for 2004 - 2005 and Treasurer of CSI Kolkata Chapter for 2005 - 2007. He had also served as CoChair of Program Committee for CSI-EAIT 2006, CSI-2006 and served as member of Program Committee and reviewer in several international and national conferences, workshops and journals including IEEE-COMPSAC 2007, IEEE-SASA 2007, IEEE-USE 2007, CSI National Journal, Kindler (Journal of Army Institute of Management Kolkata), and IJOP (International Journal of Patterns). Sicilia Urbán Miguel Angel obtained a University degree in Computer Science from the Pontifical University of Salamanca in Madrid, Spain (1996) and a PhD from Carlos III University in Madrid, Spain (2002). In 1997 he joined an object-technology consulting firm, after enjoying a research grant at the Instituto de Automática Industrial (Spanish Research Council). From 1997 to 1999 he worked as assistant professor at the Pontifical University, after which he joined the Computer Science Department of the Carlos III University in Madrid as a lecturer, working simultaneously as a software architect in ecommerce consulting firms, and being a member of the development team of a personalization engine. Since 2002 to October 2003, he worked as a full-time lecturer at Carlos III University working actively in the area of adaptive hypermedia. Currently, he works as a full-time professor at the Computer Science Department, University of Alcalá (Madrid), and leads the Information Engineering (IE) Research Unit IE is one of the active groups in the Department, and it has produced a significant research activity in the fields of learning technology and Semantic Web applications in the last two years. Dr. Sicilia is currently the scientific coordinator of EU project LUISA, which aims at developing a semantic service framework for reusable digital resources. He has also leaded the OntoVisual project, in which a semantic browsing mechanism for contemporary Spanish cultural assets was devised. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Metadata, Semantics and Ontologies, published by Inderscience, and serves as member of editorial board of many other scientific journals in the area of Semantic Web, Computational Intelligence, Software Enginnering and Information Systems. He has been active in metadata research and was awarded the 2006 Cyc prize for the best research paper. Dr. Sicilia leads the Special Interest Group on Reusable Learning Objects (SIGRLO) in the Association for Information Systems, and chairs the SPDECE conference series, the premier latin-american pluri-disciplinary event on learning objects. Kannammal Sampath Kumar is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Technology and Applications in Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, India. She received her Masters Degree from the Indira Gandhi National Open University, India in 2001. She received her PhD in Computing Sciences from VIT University, Vellore, India in 2007. Her research interests include electronic business, agent technology and web services. She has published papers in the following: International Journal of Electronic Business, Journal of Computer Science, Pacific Asian Journal of Mathematical Sciences, Academic Open Internet Journal and IEEE Computer Society. Manolis Tzagarakis holds a degree of computer Engineering & informatics, from the university of Patras and a Ph.D from the same university. His Ph.D dissertion was on component based hypermedia systems for large scale hypermedia. He is currently a researcher at the Research Academic Computer Technology Institute He teaches courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level at the University of Patras and the Hellenic Open University. He has served as program committee member or program chaor for a number of a conferences and workshops. His research interests include Hypertext and Hypermedia (in particular Hypermedia Systems and Structural Computing), Web Engineering, Knowledge Management, Computer-Supported Collaborative Work, Software Engineering, Service Oriented Computing.
Mohamed-Khireddine kholladi is a Doctor of state in Computer Sciences and in automatic (graduate Doctor of the INSA of Lyon - France). He is currently a head of Computer science department of the Faculty of Science of the engineer of the university Mentouri Constantine in Algeria and president of association sciences and development of the university. He is a head of team of research at the documentary research laboratory of the department of biblio-economics and member of the vision team & computer graphics of the research laboratory LIRE of the computer sciences department. He is member of the network Cassini in France and member of network ACIT and IAJIT International. Its work concerns the geographical information systems, the computer graphics, the treatment and synthesis of image, national’s archives, knowledge data bases, the new technology of information and communication “NTIC”, computer sciences, information system, etc.
Zhixiong Chen is an Associate Professor in the Division of Mathematics and Computer Information Science at Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry, New York. He has worked for over six years at IBM Research Labs. His interests include Autonomic Computing to achieve self_*, Network Measuring, Monitoring and Security (NMMS), Compiled Parallel Computing, and Neuronal Modeling. Recently he is doing modeling and applications in Services Computing area using Statistical Approaches and Fuzzy Logic Control. He has published more than 20 peer reviewed journal papers and numerous conference papers, and served as program committee members in various IEEE conferences. Dr. Chen earned his PhD in Mathematics and Master in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA. He got his Master and Bachelor in Mathematics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China.
Emiliano Tramontana received his 'Laurea' degree in Computing Engineering from Catania University, Italy, in 1997. From 1997 to 2000 he was a research associate in the Department of Computing Science at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (UK). From 2000 to 2006 he was a research associate in the Department of Mathematics and Computing at the University of Catania and he was supporting teaching activities for the Operating Systems and Distributed Systems courses for the Computing Science degree. From 2007 he has been appointed as assistant professor in the faculty of Science at the University of Catania. Currently he is teaching the three courses related with Software Engineering available in his faculty. He has been co-chair of the four editions of the workshop ETNGRID at the IEEE WETICE conference since 2004, as well as co-chair of the four editions of the PSC track at the ACM SAC conference since 2005. He has a large amount of publications in the fields of Software Engineering and Distributed Systems and he is actively involved in several projects aiming at reducing the effort required to build complex distributed object-oriented systems. His research interests include software architectures, computational reflective and aspect-oriented systems, evolution of object- and agentoriented systems, distributed computing and object-oriented metrics.
Aimé Mokhoo Mbobi is a Technology Advisor at the Department of Product Operations of Red- Knee Inc, principally in the training sector. He holds a Telecom Engineering Degree from the Ecole Nouvelle d’Ingénieurs en Communication (Enic-Telecom Lille1) and the University of Lille1 in 1994, a Masters Degree in Computer Science from the Ecole des Mines de Paris in 2002, and a Ph.D in Computer Science from the University of Paris XI in 2004, both in France. Moreover he carried out a PostDoc at the Department of Computer Science of the EcoleSupérieured’Electricité (Supelec). Prior to RedKnee, Dr. MBOBI worked in Research and Teaching at the Department of Computer Science of the Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité from 2002 to 2005. He also worked as a Contractual Assistant Professor at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST Paris) in France in 2005 and Professor at the Institut Supérieur des Techniques Appliquées (ISTA) in the Democratic Republic of from 1997 to 2000. Dr. Mbobi’s research activities include the specification of new mechanisms which would enable interactions between components governed by different models of computation. One of his publications obtained the "Best Paper Award" from the 2003 International Conference on Computing, Communications and Control Technologies in Orlando, Florida, USA. In addition, he is a Member of the International Institute of Informatics and Systemics (IIIS) and Program Committee Member of ICECE 2004, CITSA 2004, CITSA 2005, CITSA 2006, CITSA 2007, IEEE IRI-SASA 2007. Besides teaching and research experiences, Dr. MBOBI has worked many years in industry and some international instances as an Engineer, Senior Consultant and Expert. These companies and institutions include France Telecom, FERMA (la Française d’Electronique, Recherche et Mathématiques) and Telecom Development in France, International Telecommunication Union (ITU), United Nation where he was the Y2K National Coordinator of Congo for the global computer problem on the transition into the twenty-first century. Throughout his career, Dr. Mbobi has played a major role in the politico-scientific arena. Most important to him, is when he has been the Senior Telecom Advisor of the Minister of Telecommunication and Technical Expert at the Presidency of the Democratic Republic of Congo where he directed the Telecom Expert Committee of the specialized services of the state. As Telecom Advisor of the Minister of Telecommunication, come hell or high water, Dr. Mbobi has made telecommunications become commonplace in DRC by licensing the first operator who deployed the GSM Network in this country; what has been his dearest wish for a long time.
Stephan Reiff-Marganiec joined the Department of Computer Science at Leicester in 2003 as a lecturer. He worked in the computer industry in Germany and Luxembourg for several years. From 1998 to 2001, he worked as a Research Assistant on the EPSRC HFIG project at the University of Glasgow, while at the same time reading for a PhD in Computing Science. The work performed at Glasgow investigated hybrid approaches to the feature interaction problem. From 2001 to 2003 Stephan worked as a Research Fellow on the EPSRC ACCENT project at the University of Stirling, investigating policies, emerging features and associated conflict resolution techniques. Stephan was responsible for organising the British Colloquium for Theoretical Computer Science in 2001 and again in 2004 and since 2004 has been treasurer of BCTCS. He was also co-Chair of the 8th International Conference on Feature Interactions in Telecommunications and Software Systems (ICFI05), He is co-Chair of the second Young Researchers Workshop in Service Oriented Computing (YR-SOC 2007) and senior member of the steering committee for YR-SOC. Stephan was principal investigator of the project “Ad-Hoc Web Applications” funded by the Nuffield foundation and leader of workpackages and tasks in the EU funded projects Leg2Net, Sensoria and inContext focusing on automatic service adaption, context aware service selection, workflows and rule based service composition. Jalel BEN-OTHMAN is an associate professor at the department of Computer Science at University of Versailles, PRiSM laboratory. He received his PhD in Computer Science from University of Versailles, France in 1998. He received the "D.E.A." degree in Computer Science in 1995 from the University of Versailles, France.
